she has arrived!

This is our beautiful new baby girl - soon to be named something epic. She has beautiful, big eyes and a sweet tempermant (if the first 12 hours are any indication). She didn't even cry when she got her first shot - the nurse looked at me a little worried and I told her "Don't worry, we are due for an easy one". She weighs 6 pounds, 5 ounces and is 18 1/2 inches short. We are all doing well and wanted to share our wonderful news with everybody. Happy New Year!

Here she is wondering who the heck I am...

Drinking her first bottle with gusto...

Poor, little, overbaked, cute foot...

I'm pretty sure this was a shout out to her big brothers back in Utah...

A full body shot...

Napping under the warmer...

Mommy Maggie...She's a champ.

The nurses made her all pretty - I'm going to have to learn how to fix girl hair.

Can't wait for you all to meet her in person. She is a doll! Love you all!

my jacob

Being away from Jacob on his birthday couldn't possibly make me miss him more than I already do...but it probably has made me more nostalgic. This is a little tribute to some of the things I love about my now 4 year old!

A big brother who loves...

And is loved in return...

A little man...

In a tiny body...

Who has had "nap hair" since infancy.

A Daddy's boy...
who looks like his birth mom...

made a mommy out of me...

and made us so happy...

A junk food lover...

with the most beautiful eyes....

the cutest smile...

and the coolest hair ever!

A quiet observer...

Who takes everything in... except meals.

A relisher of ice cream...

A little performer...

A ladies man...

And future heart breaker!

A mess maker...

and adventurer...

who gets a little nervous around new things...

but eventually works up his courage.

A good traveller...

who is learning to be independent.

A preschooler...

An athlete...

And future daredevil...

The happiest boy with the best disposition...

who worries a little at night...

Our little cookie monster...

with a striking resemblance to a troll doll...

A boy who loves his cousins...

And loves gagee too...

Handsome enough to be a model...

Cool enough to be a dude...

And the best Christmas blessing ever who I couldn't possibly love more.

Christmas miracles

Christmas is a blessed time of year for my family. This year is destined to be another memorable one. I wanted to recap a few of the miracles that have happened so far...

1. Before leaving town, I pulled one of these out of the dryer while folding clothes. No harm done...

2. I managed to lug (although not too gracefully) 3 giant suitcases, my purse, a laptop and a carseat around the Long Beach airport and eventually made it to my rental car - a sweet teal colored Toyota Corolla, if you were wondering.

3. We are going to have another Christmas baby, scheduled to be induced on Dec. 30th if she doesn't decide to come sooner.

Family - I love you all and miss you like crazy! Give my boys tons of love and kisses since Mommy is away. Merry Christmas everyone!

toddlers much?

My boys were cracking me up yesterday.

In the morning, Jacob sat eating breakfast with his eyes tightly closed...
Me - "Why are you closing your eyes Jacob?"
Jacob - "Because I no want to see".
Nuff said I guess!

Later, I was carrying Edison down the hall at Jacob's school...
Eddie - "Hi, kid" "Hi you kid" to all the passing children.
Edison later pointed out his "red shirt" to Jacob's teacher. He is so smart!

Then to top off the adorableness, we had a little Christmas tree fiasco. I should have taken a picture, the other day, when I got my Christmas tree up and decorated, but I only got around to documenting Jacob's way of decorating the house, which I have kept up, because it makes me smile.

Instead, I waited until now to take our "Oh Christmas tree" picture, since the Christmas tree is now down. Right after dinner, I heard a suspicious, odd noise followed by Eddie saying "Oh my goodness" in his tiny baby voice. This is what I found.

When Jacob saw me, he immediately said "I so sorry mommy". I had to try and not laugh. And seeing as how the tree was already down, Jacob recognized the tree stand would make a great steering wheel and began driving the tree all over the living room. Things got ugly between the boys if Eddie tried to help steer.
I ran to grab my camera and document this "cuteness" when Eddie decided to open a bag of powdered sugar and cover the kitchen floor with it. Awww!

I don't even want to know what is going on as I write this post.
