fatties need not apply...

I love to mock my local paper! However, I can't really hold "The Sun Advocate" responsible for the crazies who take out strange personal ads. This one made me laugh. I'm sure his phone is ringing off the hook! Look out ladies!
I could have saved him some money with a shorter ad summarizing the basic points...

Desperate, old, unambitious and single LDS Dad seeking non-fat, 30 to 40-something year old woman who loves the outdoors, sappy music and doesn't mind poor spelling, indifference, the occassional use of words like "eldest" in everyday conversation, and loads of credit card debt in a BFF or possible husband who has a decent body but a face like a dropped pie. PS: I need a mom for my kids and don't mind if you have some too.
OK, I'm not sure if that ad was really any shorter than the original but it was a fun rewrite.

to the sea...

I love Jack Johnson. He is an amazing musician, a talented song writer, a likeable treehugger, a Dad, a husband and he seems, from a stalkers point of view, to be a good person. He donates 100% of the profits from touring to charity. And he regularly made fun of on SNL so that makes him somewhat iconic. Oh yeah, and he is hottie.

He is not the best dressed celebrity. But he has some of the best lyrics...
Everybody thinks that everybody knows about everybody else...Nobody knows anything about themselves becuase their all worried about everybody else.

She gives me presents, with her presence alone. She gives me everything I could wish for. She gives me kisses on the lips just for coming home.

Look at all those fancy clothes,But these could keep us warm just like those. And what about your soul? Is it cold?Is it straight from the mold, and ready to be sold?

Love is the answer, at least for most of the questions in my heart. Like, why are we here? And where do we go? And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving. I'll tell you one thing its always better when we're together.

And, best of all, Jack Johnson concerts are one that Dave and I can actually agree on. Unlike Christopher Cross and Gwen Stefani. So I can always count on the SLC stop on his tours for a date night. Even if I have two nephews tag along. Austin, ROCKED out, by the way!

look who called me today!

I didn't answer. But they left me a message that I could call them if I wanted to lower my interest rate on my current credit card account. Thanks for the heads up Caller ID.

one place I would love to live in if it weren't for that whole job thing...

This weekend was so much fun vacationing with friends in Bear Lake. I love my friends, I love Bear Lake, and Garden City, and raspberries, and hanging out, and playing on the Beach, and being sped around the lake on a tube and not cooking, and hide and seek with "the kids", and short parades, and fireworks seen from the deck, and going to bed early and staying up late sometimes too. I don't love packing, or unpacking or long car trips or tired babies but I won't talk about those things. Last year, we came home from Bear Lake with an ferocious kitten we named Bear. This year there were no surprises, just lots of good times and fun people. And I still have the Season Finale of FNL to watch and some leftover junkfood to eat. It's been a great weekend!

Here are my cute kids...

Some of the girls (sorry Monique)...

Some of my peeps....

And all of the kids! Wow!

in the funny post welcome you read my blog...

I had to share this AWESOME packaging on some squirt guns I bought last night. Really Gigatoy? WOW! I love this so much!

And it gets better...

This is a classic! Am I right? So funny! I can't get through the last....um...sentence(?) without cracking up. If you want one for yourself I found it at "Fresh Market". It was worth the $3.99 even without the squirt guns.

PS: China, stop telling everyone how smart you are and prove it by using proper diction and non-toxic materials in your exported baby toys.

thank you pioneers...

What can you cram into two weekends? I'll tell you...if I can remember it all.

One trip to the rodeo...

( A fun rodeo but with the most horrible, dangerous, uncomfortable seating EVER which was inexplicably made for people under 4 feet tall)...

One Bee's Game...

One firework show...

One attempted batch of homemade bread destroyed by Eddie...

One 20 year High School Reunion (thankfully not mine just yet)...

One Baptism for this handsome nephew...
One play date at the park...

(That is Jacob on the pole and he climbed even higher the next time up!)

One Bridal Shower for this cute niece...

Attended by these other cute nieces who better not get married for a long time!

And Sunday after church, a lot of this for all of us!

Phew! I'm exhausted just recapping it. The next two weekends are going to be just as crazy! We have a trip to Bear Lake, a wedding, the Jack Johnson concert and a trip to Idaho Falls in the works. I'm excited but I wish I had a wife to do all the packing for me.
